Ariandor. A land of great beauty, where virgin forests glow emerald and teem with mystical life, and complicated, labyrinthine tunnels form sprawling kingdoms within great granite mountains. A land of arid rockscapes and humid coastlands, fertile plains and cerulean lakes—a vast and divergent continent dotted with communities of every size and purpose.
But it is as hostile as it is beautiful. The continent is torn by strife; the specter of oppression shadows every corner of the country. Races have segregated themselves for hundreds of years, and are slow to lay generations-old prejudices to rest—xenophobic elves, fractious dwarves and mischievous kender, bloodthirsty kith and dark dragonkind relentless in their desire to subjugate and destroy. And at the center are the humans, a people struggling without a king, where only an elite class of warriors are allowed to dispense justice, which they do with a swift and often merciless hand.
This is Ariandor, the kingless land. A place where discipline comes at the sharp end of a blade and death lurks in every shadow. Wardens wander the land, either keeping order or enforcing anarchy. Tentative alliances are formed, while new evils are discovered every day.
Ariandor is a place of high adventure and dark intrigue. Someday, the world will be united again.
